View Article  Japan Rental Real Estate Project Begins.
Well I had almost decided not to contribute any further articles as it was beginning in to feel like a job. However these days I do have time and have been asked by several people to at least post an article here and there.

We continue to develop residential rental properties here in Japan. Last year we purchased another couple of blocks of land for the purpose of building small residential rental apartments. We paid the land taxes to hold these empty for a year. Last week we began building a block of six 40 square meter rental apartments which we will market to single men and woman in the Hyogo area of Japan.

I will update this blog a little later as we have some decent photos.
View Article  BOJ steady at 0.5 Percent

Friday 27th April 2007.

The Bank of Japan has decided to adjust down it's forecast for the Japanese economic inflation. It no longer sees the 0.5% increase it expected for Japan's CPI and feels that 0.1% more accurately reflects the present economic condition of Japan. The BOJ board is sticking to it's guns and repeating that it "will adjust the level of interest rates gradually in accordance with improvements in the economic and price situation"

As such for now we shall see no further increases in the interest rates above the 0.5% that were set in February 2007.

View Article  Bank of Japan says no to interest hike
With the interest rates holding at 0.25% now is the time to get in to your own real estate investment. It's also time to negotiate as hard as you can with the bank to fix that rate for as long as possible. Ten years sounds good to me and I know the banks will do it.   more »
